SCHMIDT LIST PLAYER-OF-THE-DAY
The Clearwater Threshers closed out the last homestand of 2008 with a loss on Monday night, but for the faithful in attendance it was a game to be cherished. It is always a sad day at the park to see the end of another baseball season.
Unfortunately I did not get to know this year's team nearly as well as I have known most teams in the past, but that is primarily due to my busy schedule this season.
The players and coaches gave their all this year, and we all wish nothing but the best for the guys in the future.
The team will have six road games to end the year and I'll try to get some reports up.
I'll plan on making one last roadtrip to Lakeland next Saturday for a final farewell to the 2008 squad.
Thank you again to everyone who helped support this website for another year. It is always so much fun getting to know the friends and family of the players each season. It is mostly so sad to know that another year has drawn to a close for the Clearwater faithful.
Only 165 days until pitchers and catchers report for spring training 2009.
