Brett Myers Rehabs in Clearwater

Earns 1 3-2 Loss in Game One of Double Header

The Clearwater Threshers got some much needed help from the Phillies after they traded away two of their best players on Thursday by getting a rehab start from Brett Myers. Unfortunately Myers would take a loss in the game as the Threshers offense offered little support outside of a two-run home run from Michael Taylor in the second inning.

Myers went 6.2 inning in the game giving up three runs (two earned) but it was not enough for the Threshers to get a win.

Monasterios Gives Up Three in First Inning

Threshers Drop Two

Carlos Monasterios got off to a rough start in the second game of tonight's double header surrendering a three-run home run in the first inning to stake the Manatees to an early 3-0 lead.

Fidel Hernandez picked up an RBI double in the second to cut into the lead driving in Michael Taylor who had led the inning off with a single. In the fourth inning the Threshers would narrow the gap even farther when Johnny U reached with a single to later score on an RBI-double from catcher Orlando Guevara to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Unfortunately 3-2 was as close as the Threshers would get in this game with the Manatees adding runs in the fifth and sixth innings to go up 5-2 and the would be the final.

Despite complete game efforts from the pitchers in both games the Threshers dropped both halves of the double heared to fall to 8-16 in the second half ten full games out of first place, and in last place in the FSL Western Division.
