BREAKING NEWS: 2 Threshers Traded

Adrian Cardenas & Matt Spencer Gone Along with ex-Thresher Josh Outman

The Philadelphia Phillies completed a trade today with the Oakland A's acquiring RHP Joe Blanton in exchange for 2B Adrian Cardenas, OF Matt Spencer, and former Threshers player LHP Josh Outman. Full story here.

We're sorry to see all of these players go, especially Matt Spencer and Adrian Cardenas who were both members of the 2008 Threshers.

In current news the Threshers are facing the Brevard County Manatees tonight in a double header to make up for last night's rain out. Tonight's start was postponed almot two hours by rain, but the first game in finally underway.

The Threshers picked up a win in the first game of the night with Drew Naylor earning his first win of the year going 6.0 innings giving up no runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and just one walk in the game. Michael Taylor was the offenses star in the game getting two hits including a double, and driving in all three of the Threshers runs in the 3-0 win.

Game two was once again postponed presumably because of the threat of more weather in the area, but it could have been due to the fact that sans Cardenas & Spencer the Threshers were very shorthanded on the night and had no reserve infielders or outfielders on their bench.

The teams will now play a double header on Friday night and complete the series with one final game on Saturday night.
