AN EDITORIAL FROM JEFF:
When I started this site many years ago, it was intended to be the "alternative" news source for the team with a very sarcastic edge that reflected my personality and gave a fun insight into the happenings at the park. In the years that have followed I began to realize that people were really following the site for news on the team because the "official" team site never gave daily game recaps like they do now, and I was the ONLY source for real news from the games. Back then sometimes (if not often) the edgy tone of the site offended some of the family and friends of the players but that was okay becauset the players never really seemed bothered by the commentary, and if anything it seemed something that they enjoyed harrasing each other about when I wrote something about them on the site.
I used to know and talk to many of the players on a regular basis, and I'd really like to again. It was a lot more fun back then being the "voice of the fan" than it is now trying to be the "information source" for Threshers news.
Many other websites have asked me to write for their sites over time and I feel I have lost touch with the players and become a part of the "media" which was really never my intention. If I was making money off of this site that would be one thing, but the fact is I don't make any money at all, and I spend a great deal of time keeping the site up to date. Any small income that does come in through ad revenue or sales from the shop goes to support the awards that I sponsor every year and present to the players at the end of each season.
I want to be known by the players as their number one fan. I don't want to be reviled by them as a media source. At this point I am almost ready to throw in the towel on running this site and returning to concentrating on being a fan of the team.
I'd really like some input from the readers of this site on the direction that the site takes in the future.
Is the site right on track, or are there improvements that need to be made?
I know that a lot (or at least some) of the players read my site on a regular basis, and I also know that many families and friends of the team read the site as well. Please take the time to use the Send Jeff an Email link to let me know your thoughts...
That being said...let's go on to news about tonight's game...

First and foremost I am a fan of this team. Let that go on the record.
That being said, I just don't know what is going on this season.
For one thing, Tyson Brummett is cursed. Tonight admitedly he did not have his best night, but even if he did it wouldn't have made much of a difference. In the five games that he has pitched for the Threshers this season the team has scored a grand total of six runs.
The Jays on the other hand have owned Threshers pitchers the last two nights cranking out 8 home runs (4 per night) in the last two games.
Tuffy Gosewisch accounted for three of the Threshers' hits on the night with a 3-3 effort at the plate. Jay Miller picked up two hits and the team's only run of the game in the ninth inning to keep the team from being shut out, and Johnny U picked up the team's only extra base hit of the game in the ninth inning to drive in Jay Miller for the only RBI of the game. Fidel Hernadez was the only other Thresher to get a hit going 1-3 on the night.
There is some real talent on this Threshers squad, so I am just left wondering WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?!
The team has one last game at home against the Jays on Thirsty Thursday and we can only hope the team will pick up a win. If nothing else the two-for-one beers will make the game easier to tolerate.
