The Threshers took the first two games of the three game series from the Yankees with ease, and went into Wednesday night's game looking to get the series sweep and sole possession of first place. Unfortunately the Yankees bats finally came to life on Wednesday after being silent the first two games, and the Yankees downed the Threshers 7-4 to avoid being swept and retain first place for themselves.
Things looked good for the Threshers in the top of the fourth when they got a streak going and picked up four runs to take a 4-1 lead, but that lead would prove short lived. In the bottom of the inning the Yankees picked up three runs to tie the game, and then two innings later added three more to grab the 7-4 lead that would hold up for the win.
Player in yellow denotes the SCHMIDT List player(s) of the game.
