OBTAINED: Phillies 5th round pick in the June 2005 draft out of the College of Charlston.

OTHER: Spent all of 2006 at Lakewood posting a terrific 2.92 ERA with 55 Ks in 64.2 innings of work. Ranked by Baseball America as the best curveball in the Phillies system.

Brett got off to a good start at Clearwater in 2007 before struggling through an injury in mid-June. He was finally shut down and put on the DL in early July and came back in mid-August just in time to help the team with their push to the playoffs. He lead the team in saves in 2007 with 13.
