What's New with the 2010 Schedule?

What's new with the schedule for 2010? Well first, all Thursday night games now have a 6:30 start with a postgame concert after each home game. Sunday games will all be at 1:00 this year (no change to 4:00 for some of them like the last couple of years).

The All-Star Game will be in Brevard County this year the same as the 2008 season. I guess no one else on the east coast wants to deal with hosting it.

Maybe the biggest news of the season is that we welcome a new team into the Florida State League this year. The Bradenton Marauders a Pirates affiliate will replace the Sarasota Reds in the F.S.L. South Division for the 2010 campaign. The Threshers face the Marauders for the first time at Bradenton for a four-game series at Clearwater in June(40th-23rd) and then again in July at Bradenton (14th-17th). This makes the second consecutive season with new teams in the league (Charlotte Stone Crabs (Rays) - 2009).

Limited Edition Threshers Caps

From the guys who created the Threshers brand over at Plan B Branding and their alter egos at the Clink Room this is your chance to grab a very rare treat. For serious fans of the Threshers this is a must have. Only 150 of these caps have been created with a rare pre-production Threshers logo that was created in the early designing phase back when the team's image was being crafted. Each cap is signed and numbered by the project creators, and the reviews of the hats produced by this company are nothing short of fabulous. I've already ordered two of the 150 for myself, and once they get here I have the feeling I will probably need to order a couple more.

This is one bad ass hat! This is one bad ass hat!

I don't make any money off of this, but Casey and Jason at Plan B are so cool, and these hats are so freaking awesome I had to share this with you. You won't hear about this anywhere else, so grab one quick. CLICK ON A HAT TO ORDER!

ATTENTION THRESHERS NATION FANS
NOW WITH TWITTER FOR THE 2010 SEASON

Well Threshers Nation has created a new twitter account where you can follow the team this upcoming season and get live updates from the ballpark. To subscribe to these updates click the twitter icon in the left side navigation bar.

So here's the deal...I've been doing this website since the team began as the Threshers, and even before that at the Jack for the last few years, so since around 1999. When I started the internet was in it's infancy, and I ran the site as a goof for me and a few of my friends to have a laugh at. Over the years it evolved into a full scale web page, and thus became full scale work to keep it going. Simply stated I don't have the time anymore. I'll keep up the roster, the schedule, and write an occasional note but there will not be a story written every game anymore like I used to do.

I don't love the team any less, I just like getting sleep. For those of you from out of town who are friends and family of the players go sign up for my twitter account and I'll give you live game notes. The twitter thing is an experiment for this season. It may work, it may not. If I don't get any followers I'm not going to waste my time ... I've got beer to drink and people to talk to after all. The ballpark is a busy place for me.
